Halloween is 'creeping' up fast and it's around this time where we go fancy dress mad to get into the spirit. So if you're rocking a horror of an outfit this year, you might want the right hairstyle to go with it.
Make sure you read to the bottom of this journal post, there is a DEAD GOOD SURPRISE at the end.
Slick Back or Vintage Centre Parting
If you're looking to create Halloween styles for traditional characters like Dracula and the Devil, we suggest you use a high shine and firm hold Pomade to achieve this type of style . We also firmly expect to see quite a few 'Jared Leto' style Jokers knocking about, so a similar product would help you nail down the slick back or vintage centre parting.
The centre parted slick back hair style is a simple one. Perfect if you're needing a hairstyle to go with your Devil or Dracula costumes.
Simply apply a water based Pomade to your hair (don't be shy, you want that high sheen hair style), and slick it back with your hands. Make sure to work the product down to the roots. Once you have applied the pomade, to get this hairstyle you'll simply need to use a comb to separate your hair in the centre, allowing it to be slicked back and out.
To get this look, start with a strong matte finish hair product, like our Clay Pomade, and work a small amount into towel dried hair. Again, warm a small amount up in your hands and apply to your hair, right down to the roots, then use your finders to push your hair back, rather than using a comb.
As this hairstyle is a twist on a traditional slickback hairstyle, we don't want to create too much "perfection". Instead, be rough and messy when applying the Clay Pomade. We want to make sure you get the disheveled look.

More Werewolf Wild & Crazy?
You might need to create a more unruly and rogue matte look this Halloween. Characters like a Werewolf, Chucky (that little horrible sh*t from Child's Play), a clown, Edward Scissor Hands and even an alternative Zombie will need the hairstyle to suit. Basically if you want things to get messy this Halloween, then a Clay Pomade or Matte Paste should provide the antidote you desire.
To create certain styles, especially the more unruly messed up look (rather than just textured), you might need the aid of a hair dryer and conduct a little hair scrunching with your fingers.
These Zombie hairstyles can be easily achieved using our Matte Paste, and applying to towel dried or blow dried hair. Towel drying before this hairstyle will give you a much messier look, whereas blowdrying will give you more volume. It's a good idea to go for volume and mess by blow drying the hair then applying the Matte Paste evenly and scrunching the hairstyle as you create it.
The Werewolf look is created in the same was as Jared Leto's "Joker" hairstyle above. But with this style, just swap the Clay Pomade for the Matte Paste.
For the Edward Scissor Hands look, you're gonna want a generous amount of Matte Paste or Clay Pomade, a whole lot of scrunching and lot of back combing!
After applying the matte finish styling product you want, get your comb and holding the ends of your hair, comb from the tip towards the scalp, causing the hair to bunch up and tangle. This hairstyle is a nightmare to comb out as the back combing can cause knots, but you'll look awesome.
